The campaign follows the launch of “ALAT: The Evolution,” the upgraded version of the bank’s digital platform, and is designed to reflect the changing forms of love experienced by customers over time.
According to the bank, the initiative broadens the traditional focus of Valentine’s Day by recognising self-love, friendship, family bonds and romantic relationships.
Under the campaign, new and existing customers are grouped into four categories—singles, friends, married couples and couples planning to wed in February.
Participants are required to create a “Love Goal” on the ALAT App and share a one-minute video on social media describing how their love journey has evolved.
Eligible entries stand to receive rewards ranging from cash gifts and spa vouchers to vacations and fully sponsored getaways, while one February wedding will feature a celebrity artiste performance sponsored by the bank.
Speaking on the initiative, Wema Bank’s Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Moruf Oseni, said the campaign reflects the institution’s customer-centric philosophy.
He noted that love, in its various forms, remains central to the bank’s relationship with its customers and informed the decision to design a Valentine’s programme that resonates across different life stages and experiences.
Oseni added that the bank’s objective is to promote self-love and friendship among singles and friends, strengthen bonds among families and married couples, and create a memorable experience for couples taking the step into marriage.
He said the bank aims for every customer to feel valued during the Valentine season and beyond.
To qualify, customers are required to activate SAW, the voice banking assistant on the upgraded ALAT App, create and fund a personal or group “Love Goal,” and carry out transactions using their ALAT or Wema Bank card between February 1 and February 10. Entries must be posted on social media using the hashtag #ALATEvolutionofLove while tagging @alat_ng and @wemabank.
Further details on participation and eligibility are available on the bank’s website at wemabank.com/love.
