AKK calls for the release of kidnapped APC chieftain, Hon. Wale Oriade

Dr. Adewale Kolapo Kareem, AKK has joined the rising number of voices demanding the immediate and unconditional release of Hon. Wale Oriade, a prominent chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State who was kidnapped several days ago.

In a strongly worded appeal, AKK described Oriade’s abduction as a painful reminder of the worsening insecurity confronting citizens and warned that such incidents threaten the peace and stability the state desperately needs.

He emphasized that Hon. Oriade, a family man, grassroots mobilizer, and committed party figure—must be rescued without delay.

AKK called on the Oyo State Government, the Nigeria Police Force, the Department of State Services, and all relevant security agencies to launch a coordinated and sustained operation to secure Oriade’s safe return.

He stressed that protecting citizens is a fundamental duty of government and that insecurity undermines every aspect of development, from education and healthcare to economic progress.

According to him, failure to bring Hon. Oriade home safely would amount to a failure of collective responsibility.

He further urged the people of Oyo State, Nigerians across the country, and supporters in the diaspora to intensify prayers for Hon. Oriade and for all Nigerians currently held by kidnappers.

AKK prayed for comfort for Oriade’s family and reaffirmed his belief that Oyo State and Nigeria can become places where citizens no longer live in fear.

He expressed confidence that, through unity and determination, the present security challenges will be overcome.

AKK announces Global Diaspora Town Hall Meetings in London, Sydney

 By Dayo Badmus

As Nigeria approaches another critical election cycle, one name steadily making waves both at home and abroad is Dr. Adewale Kolapo Kareem, popularly known as AKK. Widely regarded by supporters as “The Pride of the Righteous of Oyo State,” Kareem is positioning himself as a fresh force within the All Progressives Congress (APC), with his eyes firmly set on the 2027 Oyo State governorship race.

In October 2025, Dr. Kareem will host a series of high-profile diaspora engagements – Town Hall Meetings, a Book Launch, and Fundraising Events – in the United Kingdom and Australia. The UK edition will take place on Saturday, October 11, 2025, at Firman Hall, Harris Academy Bermondsey, London, while the Australian edition will follow on Saturday, October 25, 2025, at the Doonside Community Centre, New South Wales.

Building a Movement Beyond Borders

For Kareem, these events are not just ceremonial gatherings. They represent a deliberate strategy to harness the influence of the Nigerian diaspora, a constituency often overlooked in political mobilization back home. Nigerians abroad contribute billions annually in remittances, and many remain keenly invested in the governance and future of their home states.

“The diaspora is part of the Oyo story,” Kareem noted in his invitation. “These are impactful moments of engagement, vision sharing, and collective support for our mission.”

His message is clear: a call for Nigerians abroad to play a tangible role in shaping the political direction of Oyo State.

The AKK Political Journey

Dr. Kareem’s rise in political consciousness has been rooted in advocacy, grassroots engagement, and a reputation for principled leadership. Though relatively new to frontline partisan politics, he has earned recognition for his outspoken stance on governance, accountability, and the role of morality in public service.

Political observers note that his branding as “The Pride of the Righteous” is more than rhetoric; it is part of a calculated appeal to the moral and cultural fabric of Oyo politics, where character often weighs as heavily as competence.

Unlike some established political figures, Kareem has worked to cultivate an image of accessibility and humility, positioning himself as both a reformist within the APC and a unifier across Oyo’s diverse communities.

A Calculated Diaspora Strategy

Analysts suggest that Kareem’s decision to launch his book and fundraising campaigns abroad is a strategic move aimed at achieving three goals: raising resources, strengthening credibility, and amplifying his message internationally.

Political commentator Adebayo Alabi noted:

“Engaging the diaspora shows foresight. Many of the reforms Kareem advocates—education, healthcare, economic empowerment—require strong partnerships. By building international goodwill, he’s laying the groundwork for a governorship campaign that looks beyond state borders.”

Looking Ahead to 2027

While the 2027 race is still two years away, the maneuverings within Oyo State’s political landscape are already taking shape. The APC, still seeking to consolidate its influence against the PDP stronghold, may find in Kareem a candidate capable of bridging old divides and presenting a modern, reformist agenda.

For his part, Kareem has kept his public messaging rooted in hope and faith. “May God graciously preserve our lives beyond these dates,” he said in his invitation, a reflection of his characteristic blend of politics and spirituality.

As London and Sydney prepare to host these events, one thing is certain: AKK is no longer just a local figure in Oyo politics—he is steadily carving out a global presence that could redefine his path to Agodi Government House in 2027.

Oyo 2027: Kareem Unveils ₦5m Loan Scheme to Boost Grassroots Economy

By Dayo Badmus

Ahead of the 2027 governorship election in Oyo State, All Progressives Congress (APC) aspirant, Dr. Adewale Kolapo Kareem, has rolled out an additional ₦5 million non-interest loan scheme targeted at traders, artisans, and small business owners across the state.

The initiative, which will benefit members and supporters of his AKK political structure, is designed to strengthen grassroots enterprises and encourage political participation.

Kareem, in a statement on Thursday, said the loan would be available to applicants who meet three conditions: possession of a Permanent Voter’s Card (PVC) or proof of registration, attendance at at least two AKK meetings, and participation in one APC ward meeting.

He stressed that the criteria were deliberately introduced to link economic empowerment with democratic responsibility. “The PVC is the strongest tool citizens have to shape governance, and it is central to building a participatory democracy,” Kareem said.

The APC hopeful disclosed that beneficiaries of earlier loan cycles who repaid on time would now qualify for higher sums. He added that strict monitoring and verification would be carried out to ensure transparency and fairness.

According to him, registration and validation of applicants will begin immediately, while disbursement of funds is scheduled for September.

Kareem, who pledged to expand and institutionalize empowerment programmes if elected governor, described the loan initiative as part of a broader plan to reduce poverty and stimulate economic growth across Oyo State.
