AKK Welcomes MC Swagger to APC

Adewale Kolapo Kareem (AKK), a prominent figure in Oyo State’s emerging 2027 political landscape, has formally welcomed Ambassador (Dr.) Opeyemi Ayanrinde, popularly known as MC Swagger, into the All Progressives Congress (APC).

MC Swagger, a well-known broadcaster, actor, media strategist, and youth mobilizer from Eruwa in Ibarapa, recently resigned from his position as Special Assistant on Mobilization to the Speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly. He announced his full alignment with the APC and its development-driven vision for the state.

In a statement, AKK praised MC Swagger’s decision as “a courageous and purposeful realignment,” noting that stepping away from an established political role shows clarity of purpose and a commitment to contributing meaningfully to Oyo State’s future.

AKK highlighted MC Swagger’s political journey—from contesting under the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) in 2023 to his more recent involvement with the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)—describing it as a testament to his humility, character, and dedication to peaceful, progressive politics.

He added that MC Swagger’s reflections on politics as a space for learning, growth, and impactful service align strongly with the values driving the APC movement.

AKK assured the new entrant that the APC remains an inclusive platform built on integrity, fairness, and opportunity, where young talents can contribute and thrive. He urged party members across Oyo State, especially in Ibarapa East, to receive MC Swagger warmly, emphasizing that his creativity, energy, and leadership capacity will strengthen the party ahead of 2027.

The event is scheduled to hold at AKK House, Ibadan, on Saturday, January 10, 2026, by 10:00 a.m.

The inauguration, held over the weekend, represents another milestone in Dr. Kareem’s ongoing engagement with stakeholders and his efforts to foster broad-based participation ahead of his Aseyori Oyo 2027 initiative.

In his remarks, Dr. Kareem underscored the importance of unity and shared responsibility in building a prosperous Oyo State.

“This project is not about AKK alone,” he said. “It is about every son and daughter of Oyo State who believes in progress, accountability, and service to humanity. I cannot do it alone. The success of our collective vision depends on everyone’s support and participation.”

Dr. Kareem explained that the Town Hall Meeting will serve as a platform for open dialogue between citizens and leaders, while the Book Launch of his forthcoming publication, “Our Realistic Tomorrow,” will unveil a comprehensive blueprint for good governance and sustainable development in Oyo State.

The Fundraising Segment, he added, will provide support for ongoing community empowerment and social impact programs under the AKK Vision Project.

Speaking on behalf of the committee, the Chairman, Hon. Sunday Ademoroti, expressed gratitude to Dr. Kareem for the confidence reposed in the team, assuring that the committee would deliver a successful and impactful event.

“We are honoured to serve in this capacity,” Hon. Ademoroti said. “Dr. AKK’s vision for Oyo State is grounded in inclusiveness, empowerment, and sustainable growth. We are fully committed to making this event a resounding success.”

Similarly, the Committee Secretary, Hon. Falowo Aduragbemi, reaffirmed the team’s determination to mobilize support from all local government areas across the state.

“The forthcoming Town Hall Meeting and Book Launch will reflect Dr. AKK’s leadership ideals and strengthen the bond between the people and their collective aspirations for a greater Oyo,” he stated.

In his closing remarks, Dr. Kareem once again emphasized the need for unity and shared ownership of the development process.

“Everyone has a role to play — in planning, in contributing, and in spreading the message of hope,” he said. “The journey to Aseyori Oyo 2027 is a collective one, and together, we will make it a success.”

He also encouraged citizens who wish to participate in the planning or support the event to reach out to the committee leadership.

“Those interested in serving or contributing to the event should contact the Committee Chairman, Hon. Sunday Ademoroti, or the Secretary, Hon. Falowo Aduragbemi,” he added.
